Jing'an Temple - Shanghai

Greg's parents and I visited the Jing'an Temple in Shanghai. I have seen many temples now in China and Taiwan.  This one was impressive. We also saw it at night when we were going to dinner in Puxi.

People were trying to throw money into the holes of this huge pot. Not sure why.

This whole structure was made of wood. The artwork was amazing!

This room has 18 worship gods.  There were kneeling benches for each one. When people came in, they started on the left and prayed to each of the gods individually.

This status was about 15-20 feet tall. It was made of wood.

This Budda was made of jade. It was 12 feet high.

More wood features in the ceilings.

Chinese carvings inside the bell.

Behind Greg's parents is the living quarters of the monks.

More ceiling woodwork.
